Busy Day!

So today has been a crazy day, full of amazing things.

First off, I actually found out Sunday night when I got an email saying my credit card was charged but...

Check that bad boy out!  I got selected to run the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler!  WAHOO!  The Cherry Blossom 10 Miler is a smaller race (15,000 runners) due to the ongoing Cherry Blossom Festival.  They started the lottery system a couple years ago to prevent any headaches associated with servers being overloaded and runners who are unable to sign up early enough.  You could sign up in a team of up to 10 people--that way if you wanted to run it with your husband, you didn't have to worry about him getting in and not you.  It was all or none.  I'm super excited to run it!  I signed up with 8 other friends so it should be a fun race!  It will also motivate me to keep running through the bitter cold months so I can hopefully get sub 1:38!

The boy also finally booked his flight to come and visit me in February for Valentine's Day AND my birthday.  I am SUPER excited.  He is actually coming the first weekend in February, since he plans on flying out here to help me move at the end of February/early March when my rotation is done here (all depends on what work is available at that time that I want to do).

Since the boy loves to snowboard--we decided to jump on this deal!

We didn't think we would actually be able to ski/board Aspen since it's much further than the other ski resorts and on the pricey side.  But with this deal, we decided--what the heck.  We went to Aspen back in September just for the day, and it was absolutely beautiful.  It was a quick trip--so I'm excited to spend 2 days there sans dog (the price to board him at his daycare here is much cheaper than paying the resort's pet fees + finding a daycare for him to go while we're out on the slopes).

Maroon Bells <3
I also heard back from a company who is willing to sponsor a giveaway!  I will be working on the giveaway post later this week--so look for it this weekend!  I'll give you a HUGE hint....these help me earn those difficult points in HBBC!

And I finally got my booty back to the gym after almost a week.  I am officially two weeks behind in my heart rate training (oops!)--so I have a lot of catching up to do.  But I knocked out 5.5 miles on the treadmill in 65 minutes (45 minutes of heart rate training, 10 minutes of running, 5 minutes warm up, 5 minutes cool down).  Not to shabby!

Oh and did I mention that my dad ordered my Christmas present today?

One thing I have been dying to get is a pair of flat black boots.  I have my Aldo black boots that have a 2.5"-ish heel on it that I LOVE--but sometimes a girl just wants to wear a pair of boots and walk normally!  I made the huge mistake of wearing them to the outlets on Saturday...

20,073 steps?!  Yep--at least 75% of them are me wearing my black boots.  (My work sponsors us to wear a pedometer to earn "health miles"...which equates to us earning more health fund money [to a certain level]).  Boy did my feet hurt...no wonder I needed this so badly :)

Dark Chocolate Toffee Caramel Apple?  YES PLEASE!
